Preliminary Task: Final Draft

This is the final draft of the front cover for my school magazine. I have made a few changes from the first draft I made. First of all I have decided to use a different image, the image is from the same set as the original however I felt that it worked a bit better as the student seems more relaxed and this gives a better feel to the magazine. I have also used my version of Photoshop Elements to edit the image to make the contrast a bit lower as the image was very bright when it was viewed on a computer.
I have also moved some of the text around and made it larger, this is mainly because before I felt that it was a little too hard to read due to the colours of the image and the size of the font.
In the first draft I felt that the bottom of the page was a little plain, so I have added the Montsaye slogan 'Education in Partnership' this gives the magazine more of a professional feel and more of an official link to the Academy.

This is the final draft for the contents page of my school magazine. It is roughly the same as the first draft as overall I was quite happy about how it looked. However I have added an image with a caption at the bottom of the page. This image has helped to make the page look more exciting and appealing for the students when they open the magazine.
I have kept the same design theme as the front cover by replicating the graphic at the top right corner of the page, this creates a sense of uniformity for the magazine, by giving the readers something easy to recognise in each issue. I feel that overall this graphic makes each page seem more professional as there is theme that repeated.

Overall I am very pleased with the progress I have made on this magazine design, and feel that I have learnt sufficient skills to produce a high quality main task design.
